In case you missed it, here’s a look back at the home we remodeled for the 2022 Tour of Remodeled Homes in Louisville, KY. This was a full house remodel which added livable space in the existing attic and gave a major face lift to the existing kitchen, bedrooms, living rooms, bathrooms, dining room, and laundry room. That doesn’t include the addition of a screen porch off the back of the house where there was an existing deck, or the full remodel of the barn on the property.

Below you’ll see the before and after pictures of the Foyer. We took an area that felt enclosed and cramped and opened it up with see through chippendale railings for the stairs. The owner loves the welcoming look that this simple change created, giving guests a great first impression of the home.

Of all the changes we did to this house, this was one of the largest. This room started as a small dining area, and we turned it into an additional living area. It features a tall gable roof and big windows that take advantage of the beautiful back yard.

Pool Room / Workout Room
The “before” picture for this section of the house would have been taken from the new workout room seen in the “after” picture but looking the other direction. This section of the existing deck became a new “pool room” which sits adjacent to a new workout room. These rooms feature tall windows which allow lots of natural light and warmth into the home.

Screen Patio
Lastly, we took the covered portion of the existing deck and created a luxurious brick paved screen porch. It includes a fireplace and high triangular windows which let in the light but keep out the rain. The beautiful, vaulted ceiling makes this room one of the focal points of the house. Natural light has no trouble flowing through the porch, past the french doors, and into the living room and kitchen.
