Barndominium/Pool House Remodel

Recently we have been working on upgrading an existing barn for one of our clients. The barn is located in our clients’ back yard near their pool. This first picture shows the pool-facing side of the barn before construction began. Our clients’ dream was to have this barn (which merely served as a storage shed) become a luxurious accent to their property.

In order to make this possible, our design team had to get creative. That started with determining how to make the best use of the space given the orientation of the building. We took the side of the barn facing the pool and added large sliding glass doors. These provided easy and clean access from the pool to the kitchen and bathroom. They also added natural light to the space which you’ll see in the upcoming pictures.

Take a look at the changes this space would have to go through to accommodate a full bathroom and kitchen…

This picture shows the state of the inside of the barn before construction began. None of the walls were insulated, and the structure was completely exposed. The barn sits on top of a concrete slab, meaning all plumbing had to be dug out. Next, you’ll see the remodel picture taken from the same place, and you might notice a few differences…

As you can see, this space got a top-to-bottom face lift. We were able to take a drab, unwelcoming barn and create a luxurious barnodminium/pool house for our clients.

To finish, this last picture shows the sliding glass doors, mentioned earlier, that lead to the pool. Stay tuned for future posts to see more of this stunning project. The best pictures are yet to come!
