Maybe you’ve been making it work in your kitchen lately, but you’re not quite content with the feel of it. We come across many clients who feel this way. The direction modern residential design is moving, many people are treating their kitchen as the focal point of their home. It’s commonly becoming the landing spot for everyone in the home to gather around good food and good conversation. A great kitchen makes residents and guests alike feel comfortable and welcome. This is why we have seen a large portion of our jobs including kitchen remodel in their remodeling project. People want to love the focal point of their home,
Here are some of our favorite kitchen remodels we’ve done over the years…
This kitchen has become one of our signature projects, with beautiful wood floors paired with sleek white cabinet and counter-top accents. Most of our recent kitchen projects have taken advantage of the warmth of hardwood floors to make their kitchens feel more welcoming and comfortable. Hardwood Floors, if done well, create a surface on which a kitchen can be uniquely designed however one chooses. Its neutral color resists clashing aesthetics and allow freedom in other parts of the kitchen decor.
Another common theme among our recent kitchen projects is the use of neutral colored wall cabinets. Similar to hardwood floors, neutral colored wall cabinets afford owners freedom in other areas of design. If the owner’s tastes change and they want new colored walls, they can paint without fear of clashing colors. Many of our clients also choose colorful island cabinets as an accent to their neutral wall cabinets. These are the sorts of things that neutral colored wall cabinets can afford you in your kitchen remodel.
This kitchen is from our recent barndominium/pool house project, which you can see more of here. Our favorite thing about this kitchen is its functionality for its size. Our client didn’t want a kitchen that took up too much of the space in their pool house. However, they also wanted a fully functioning kitchen for their big parties or gatherings of friends and family. This kitchen, though small in size, gives them ample functionality in preparing those party meals and snacks. Not to mention the fact that it aesthetically pleases the eye and fits perfectly in this open concept barndominium. This unique little kitchen is a great example of the variety we provide to our clients.
Though it’s a relatively older project, this kitchen always stands out as one of our favorites to look back on. Many older homes which we enter to remodel are in dire need of breathability. Walls take up precious living space and make kitchens feel cramped. That’s why we often install beams which absorb the structural load above and allow for walls to go away altogether. That then creates this open feel where the kitchen can be seen from many different parts of the house.
We have had the privilege of helping many clients realize the true potential for their kitchen through the years. Simple changes like these are often all you need to make your underwhelming kitchen take on a whole new life. If you are struggling with inspiration for your kitchen remodel, give us a call! We would love to help you make your kitchen one of the focal points of your home.
