Porches and patios can be one of the most neglected aspects of a home. And yet, they can also be one of the biggest difference makers in a home’s overall charm and comfort. There are plenty of homes that have no porch and still feel nice and make a good impression on guests. But a house with a beautiful porch can have the feel of a dream home.
Over the years we have done dozens of porches and patios for clients who wanted a more luxurious outdoor space. Each one has a different style based on our clients’ wishes and on what their space can accommodate.

One of our most common requests for an updated outdoor space is for a screened-in porch. These spaces often boast beautiful vaulted ceilings and cozy stone fireplaces for ideal comfort. We implement triangular windows in the high vaulted openings of the gable to promote natural lighting and protection from rain.

Another common request we get from our clients is for an update to their front porch. Many houses are initially built by people with little interest in creating curb appeal with an eye-catching front elevation. This can create one of the biggest obstacles to a home’s resale value since this view is often the first a potential buyer sees. Like this project, most of our front porch remodels feature attention grabbing gables, unique doors, and detailed columns and stonework.

We also get requests for more simplistic porches such as this. There are many ways to remodel a porch with a simple layout and bring character to an otherwise uninteresting space. Tension wire railing, vertical slat detailing, and wide stairs are a few of the noteworthy details of this particular deck. But when it comes to personalization, options are nearly endless even for smaller and simpler deck projects.

At Stonehenge we pride ourselves on project design that makes a remodel look like it has always been there. We also take our clients’ wishes seriously and endeavor to make their remodel dreams come to life. If these projects intrigue you and you want to see similar projects we’ve done, click here.
